The basic idea of Montessori philosophy is that children are individuals with their own strengths, weaknesses, interests, and learning styles. Acknowledging these traits is the key to a child's fundamental development. While working in "the prepared environment," we provide the child has the opportunity to work on concepts at a level that challenges them yet is not frustrating. We believe that when a child is working like this, they are more engaged and focused. This leads to a deeper understanding of the material with less boredom and frustration, thereby creating a genuine, lasting interest in learning.
